Unexpected Casualties

I have to admit to getting a real kick out of this comic. Probably because Jim's last job (the one he worked for 10+ years) was for a major Chicago newspaper. For the last 5-6 years he was at his job (not a reporter, but programming paper delivery software), you could see the industry slowly dying. Circulation numbers are everything in the newspaper world, and the paper was very proud of certain numbers. They absolutely couldn't drop below a certain level...and when they did, instead of trying to get the numbers up, they lowered there "must not go under" number.

I do have to wonder. What *will* happen to Clark Kent. When DC has another crisis and they reboot the franchise--which they almost always do every decade or two--will the Daily Planet be a traditional print paper or will it be a multimedia company? Perhaps it will be something more along the lines of CNN? Either way, the world is changing, and not only is it affecting us mere schmoes, but it's affecting what's real important...comic books! Ack!

Too bad, Clark. At least we can always count on the fact that Wayne Industries is ambiguous enough to do anything and everything. Gotta love Bruce Wayne.

Only, in the comics now, he's dead.

My childhood is truly gone.
